Local Area Coordinator (LAC)

Back to the A-Z of open employment

Local Area Coordinators (LACs) help people understand and access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). They also work with NDIS participants to develop and use their NDIS plan.

For most people aged seven years and older, a LAC will be their main point of contact for the NDIS.

The NDIS works with different community organisations in different parts of the country to deliver the LAC program. You can learn more about what LACs do on the NDIS website.
