DES Eligible School Leaver

Back to the A-Z of open employment

Eligible school leavers are people with significant disability who are in their final year of secondary school, or are moving from School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) or an eligible state or territory transition to work program.

Eligible school leavers can get help from a Disability Employment Service (DES) to find and keep a job while they are studying full-time. They don’t have to do a Job Capacity Assessment (JCA) or an Employment Services Assessment (ESAt).

Disability Employment Services (DES) is the Australian Government’s employment service that can help people with disability find work and keep a job in open employment.
